Sleeper? No, you’re wrong.

Every time my car gets parked somewhere, especially at racing-type events, I wind up hearing the word “sleeper” thrown at it. While I appreciate the sentiment, I don’t agree. You just don’t know what to look for; shitty paint does not make it a sleeper. There will be some changes soon, some of which will actually make the Falcon more sleeper-y; others will make it less so, to the trained or untrained eye. The important point here is this: Train your fucking eyes better!

Clarification, without picture: At a car show the other day, I saw a real sleeper. It was a rusty-ass (its actual color and texture) early-’50s Studebaker pickup truck bolted onto a mid-2000s Ford Crown Vic (cop car) chassis. They used everything down to the steel cop wheels (the ones that came with the rack & pinion front end), along with the 4.6 modular motor. Nobody was looking at this thing, and I wish I’d taken a picture. It was so cool, and nobody had a fucking clue…
